VISUAL LEARNING
Learning to See, Think and Create
Battswood’s Visual Arts & Design programme gives learners opportunities to observe, imagine, experiment and communicate ideas through creative practice. Working with images, materials and concepts encourages learners to explore their surroundings, develop their own ideas and discover different ways of expressing themselves.
The creative process gives learners space to experiment, make choices and develop work from an initial idea through to a finished visual outcome.

BEYOND THE STUDIO
From Creative Practice to Public Exhibition
Battswood learners are given opportunities to experience the arts beyond the classroom through exhibitions, cultural programmes and exposure to established arts institutions.
These experiences allow learners to see their creative work in a wider context while gaining inspiration from the professional and contemporary art world. Battswood learners have participated in arts-related activities at Iziko Museums and have also had opportunities to visit Zeitz MOCAA.
